Backing legislation to eliminate wasteful tax expenditures in the FY2014 budget, more than a dozen state senators and representatives joined with Citizen Action/Illinois and other members of the Responsible Budget Coalition at an April 18 state Capitol news conference.

Citizen Action/ Illinois Calls for Medicare Price Negotiations

Rockford, IL– On April 3, Citizen Action/IL and IARA stood with local seniors at a press conference to demand Congress lift the prohibition on Medicare price negotiations. The press event was held at the historic Booker Washington Community Center in Rockford Illinois. The groups announced their support for Senator Rockefeller's legislation to allow negotiations, which could save Illinois close to $3 Billion over ten years. Also, they committed to keep the pressure on Congressional members in the area.
